RCE has developed the next generation of Swing Cranes.

With RCE’s thorough understanding of railroad maintenance equipment, and its staff of innovative engineers have designed this product using John Deere’s wheel loader technology to provide, a machine with a superior reputation for trouble free performance.

The 644 is powered by a 156 HP John Deere Diesel engine and uses a wheel loader chassis design that has been modified to work on the rail.

The standard loader boom and housing has been replaced with a 200 deg turntable that allows the operator to accomplish swing crane functions.

The main boom assembly retains it structural integrity allowing the 644 to accomplish wheel loader functions With 13,500 lbs of lift capacity,

The 644 Swing Series IV has all the power you need to handle your railroad maintenance needs .

When equipped with the option high traction axles the 644 Swing series IV has enough drawbar pull to handle the positioning of continuous rail.

The 5” solid high rail axle gives the 644 Swing Series IV sure footed traction when up on the rail.

Weather working on or off rail the RCE 644 Swing Series IV swing loader provides a powerful, safe machine that offers the reliability of John Deere wheel loaders and the ultimate in swing crane technology to the railroad industry.

These products are available for Sale, Lease and Rentals.

FEATURES

Engine

The 644 Swing Loader is powered by a 156 horsepower wet sleeve design John Deere turbo diesel engine. Access to the Service points, Batteries, Radiator level, Hydraulic fluid level,

Air Filters & Windshield Washer, Engine oil is gained through large doors on located on both sides of the machine.

Routine daily checks can be accomplished at ground level. This eliminates the need to climb on the machine to check fluid levels and eliminates the risk of an operator falling.

Axles & High Rail Rear

When the 644 Swing Loader is equipped with the High Traction Axle option, the increased drawbar pull allows the 644 to handle steep lopes, muddy conditions, climbing on and off the rail with the greatest of ease.

The best advantage from the high traction axles is that the 644 can handle pulling strings of rail without the need of another machine.

The 644 Swing Loader is equipped with friction drive high rail axles. The high rail axle is a 5-inch axle that connects both high rail wheels giving the operator positive tractive effort in two or four-wheel drive modes.

The optional hydraulic oscillation locks gives the operator the ability to lock the rear axle from oscillating which increases the stability of the machine when lifting over the side. This option replaces the standard mechanical locks, which the operator has to get out of the machine to engage. The hydraulic oscillation locks are activated from inside the cab with the flip of a switch.

Cab

In the railroad maintenance business, a normal 8-hour shift passes for banker’s hours.  That’s why RCE’s engineers designed the 644’s cab to be the quietest, most comfortable in the industry.

The operator’s compartment is laid out to allow the operator an unobstructed view of panels and controls. The gauges and indicator lights on the monitor panel keeps the operator current on vital fluid levels and temperatures.

The deluxe suspension seat is fully adjustable to conform to the operator’s legs, arms and weight

The retractable seat belt stays clean, dry and ready to use.

The optional jump seat allow a flagman to ride along with the operator

ATTACHMENTS
With the optional front hydraulic bucket coupler the 644 can be fitted with a wide range of attachments:

Tote Booms & Magnets

Buckets

Pallet Forks

Snow Plows

Train Car Couplers with Air Systems
