Model T336 Tamper HeadThe RCE T336 Excavator Tamper Head provides the railroad industry with an innovative approach to tie tamping using little or no track time.
Using the proven reliability and the latest technology that is provided in a John Deere Excavator, and by combining it with specialized hydraulic powered tamper head, the D-2563 Tamper Head provides the ability to tamp up ties without the need for stopping trains.
The standard Tamper head is mounted on a Deere excavator in the 12 to 20 metric ton class. This excavator is equipped with a hydraulic package to meet the requirements of the Tamper attachment.
The excavator with the Tamper Head attached tamps the new ties form the side of the track. This operation is completed under a Form B, the equipment swings into the clear and the trains are allowed to pass during this process. This allows the transportation department to keep trains moving and the maintenance of the track in high traffic areas to be completed.
